Why Choose Cameo College’s Electrology / Laser Program?
Electrology is a specialized beauty education path focused on hair removal services and the professional judgment behind them. At Cameo College in Murray, Utah, students can explore electrolysis, waxing, and laser/IPL hair reduction education in a professional learning environment.
Because electrolysis and laser/IPL work differently, students should understand the science, terminology, safety considerations, consultation process, and current state requirements connected to each method. Review the current program page information and speak with admissions to confirm which topics are hands-on, demonstration-based, or classroom education.
What Electrology / Laser Students Study
Cameo’s Electrology / Laser program page lists education in electrolysis methods, face and body waxing, and laser/IPL hair reduction. This creates a focused program path for students who are interested in the professional side of hair removal services.
Electrolysis Methods
Electrolysis treats individual hair follicles using controlled electrical current. Cameo’s program page lists electrolysis methods including galvanic, multiple needle electrolysis, thermolysis, and blend. Students should ask admissions how each method is currently taught and practiced.
Laser / IPL Hair Reduction
Laser and IPL hair reduction use light-based energy rather than the follicle-by-follicle probe method used in electrolysis. Students exploring this field should understand the difference between language about permanent hair removal and language about hair reduction, along with the importance of client screening and professional safety standards.
Face and Body Waxing
Waxing is another form of hair removal listed on the program page. Studying multiple hair removal approaches can help students understand how methods differ in application, client consultation, maintenance expectations, and professional communication.
Consultation, Sanitation, and Safety
Hair removal education is not only about equipment or technique. Students also need to understand sanitation, client comfort, treatment-room preparation, consultation, aftercare communication, and how to discuss services without promising specific results.
